What the Roundtable is
Most CPOs adopting AI face the same set of problems at the function level — which aren't the same problems as the individual practitioners underneath them. Tool governance. Team capability gaps. Board-level ROI reporting. The risk of a high-profile AI failure undermining the adoption effort. Change management in a risk-averse function.
These problems are not solved by a training course. They are worked through in peer conversation with people who have the same mandate and the same constraints.
The CPO Roundtable creates that conversation — structured, with a facilitator who understands both the procurement context and the AI landscape, and a small enough cohort that discussion is genuinely useful.
What it is not
- Not a training course — no curriculum to complete, no assessments
- Not a keynote or webinar — the format is discussion, not presentation
- Not a vendor pitch — no product demos, no sponsored content
- Not for team leads or managers — specifically for the head of the function
- Not open enrollment — every applicant is reviewed for cohort fit
The four sessions
Each 90-minute session opens with a 15-minute framing, then moves into facilitated peer discussion. Cohorts meet once every 3–4 weeks.
Session 1
AI Capability Baseline
Where is your function actually right now — not where you aspire to be? A structured baseline assessment, peer benchmarking on tool adoption and governance maturity, and identification of the two or three highest-leverage gaps to close in the next 90 days.
Session 2
Tool Governance & Risk Framework
Which AI tools are appropriate for which types of procurement data? How do you build a governance framework that protects the function without blocking adoption? Common failure modes from early adopters and how to avoid them.
Session 3
Team Enablement & Change Management
How do you get a procurement team that is skeptical, time-pressured, and risk-averse to actually change how they work? Capability building approaches that have worked. Common program failure modes. Building internal champions vs. top-down mandates.
Session 4
ROI Measurement & Board Reporting
How do you measure the value of AI adoption in procurement in a way that is credible to a CFO and a board? The metrics that survive scrutiny. The ones that don't. How to frame the narrative for stakeholders who are skeptical of AI ROI claims.
Who we are looking for
Title
CPO, VP of Procurement, Head of Procurement, or equivalent. The person who owns the AI adoption question for the function.
Experience
5+ years at senior procurement level. You understand the function deeply enough to have an opinion on what AI changes and what it doesn't.
AI position
Anywhere from "skeptical but curious" to "early adopter building a program." What matters is genuine engagement with the question, not where you've landed.
Sector
We accept applicants from all sectors. We do not place CPOs from directly competing organizations in the same cohort.
