AI Training for Procurement Teams
Hands-on AI training built on your team's real sourcing, RFP and contract work, not generic prompt tips. Three tracks: individually at your own pace, together as a team, or at the CPO level.
Choose the track that fits how you work.
Real outcomes from teams we've trained
What changes after training
Measured time-to-complete on two of the most common procurement tasks, before and after the program. Ranges reflect variation across teams.
Based on training outcomes across 10+ procurement teams. Not a guarantee, your starting point shapes the result.
What you'll learn
From zero to AI-fluent: the four levels
Most procurement teams stop at Level 1, better prompts in a browser tab. We take teams to Level 4: scheduled tasks running on their behalf and a prompt library their team actually uses.
Level 1, Basics
Write prompts that get clean output in one shot. Understand how LLMs work and why context matters.
Level 2, Setup
Move beyond browser copy-paste. Use desktop apps, local folders, and edit files directly.
Level 3, Role-specific
Know exactly which procurement tasks AI helps with, and the right path to complete each one (prompt, skill, or scheduled task).
Level 4, Advanced
Run scheduled recurring tasks. Maintain a working prompt library that grows with your team.

What every team leaves with
A prompt library that keeps working
The library is the artefact teams use the day after training ends. It's the thing that determines whether AI sticks.
Baseline on day one
Every team we train leaves with a baseline prompt library, tested, annotated, organised by workflow stage. They start using it the day after the program ends.
Sustainable in two months
A sustainable library, covering the full day-to-day procurement cycle, typically takes around two months of real use to build. We support that build through monthly office hours.
Half keep building on their own
Around half the teams we train continue growing their library independently after training ends. That's the outcome we're aiming for, a team that no longer needs us.
A note on leadership
The CPO goes first.
The teams that get lasting value from AI training are the ones where procurement leadership uses AI in their own work first.
If you're a CPO considering training for your team, the best first step is to start using AI yourself. The CPO Roundtable is built for exactly this.
Procurement AI training: common questions
What does AI training for procurement teams cover?
Four capability levels: writing prompts that work in one shot, moving from browser copy-paste to desktop apps and local files, knowing which procurement tasks AI helps with and which path suits each (prompt, skill or scheduled task), and running scheduled recurring tasks backed by a team prompt library. Team workshops use scenarios from your own categories.
How long does procurement AI training take?
Team workshops run in one or two-day formats. The self-paced course runs from 4.5 to 25 hours of content depending on the tier. Teams have a first version of their prompt library within two weeks, and a library that covers the full day-to-day procurement cycle typically takes around two months of real use, which we support through monthly office hours.
How much does AI training for procurement cost?
The self-paced individual course starts at $245. Team workshops are priced by team size, for teams of 2 to 40+ people. The CPO Roundtable is a quarterly peer cohort that participants join by application.
What results do procurement teams see after training?
Across 10+ teams we have trained, RFP generation dropped from 8–15 hours to 2–3 hours (about 80%), and analysing five medium-complexity supplier responses dropped from 6–10 hours to about one hour. Results depend on your starting point, templates and data access.
Which AI tools does the training use?
We train on the general-purpose assistants procurement teams already have access to, such as Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot, rather than a proprietary platform. We are the team behind the open-source Procurement OS plugin for Claude.
What should procurement teams not use AI for?
Two things, based on what we see across teams. Do not rely on AI to extract data from complex PDFs without checking the output, and never let AI approve, reject or decide anything consequential. AI informs the decision; a person makes it.
